Tate Rose Nursery has been a very big part of the Rose Growing industry for well over 70 years.  It is now being run by the third and fourth generations of the Tate family.   P.O. Tate started the business growing roses in Tyler, TX. back in 1935, and has passed his knowledge, skills, and experiences on to each generation.  His son, Otis Tate, took over operating the business in 1975.  Trent Tate, his grandson, is now in charge of day to day operations, and his children, the 4th Tate generation, are actively involved with the business.

Tate Rose Nursery takes much pride for being active in many community events.  Each year, Tate Rose Nursery donates blooms from their fields to the Texas Rose Festival, and has on many occasions donated rose bushes to be planted in the Tyler Rose Garden.   Otis Tate has served as President of the Texas Rose Research Foundation, as well as other positions such as Procurement Chairman for the Texas Rose Festival.  Most recently, Trent's daughters, Shannon and Jennifer, have both served as a "Duchess of Rose Growers" in the Texas Rose Festival.   The Tate family is very proud of their heritage with growing roses in this community, and looks forward to serving the rose industry for many generations to come.
